'Complete record of the restoration of the 17th. c. painted frieze in the Upper Reading Room of the Old Bodleian Library, Oxford, [by] Helen Watson'
This illustrated report includes short biographical information on the people depicted in the frieze together with references and detailed descriptions of their portraits and other ornaments as they were before the restoration work began. It records the degree and methods of the restoration that followed the rediscovery of the frieze in 1949. These were carried out under the direction of E. Clive Rouse. Helen Watson was one of his assistants.
Some pages were removed from the report by its author prior to its coming to the Library, as they were damaged by damp.
