Biographical / Historical
Alfred Leslie Rowse (1903-1997) was a British author and historian, known for his poetry about Cornwall and studies of Elizabethan England. John Betjeman (1906-1984) was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1972. Waterfield's was a secondhand bookshop in Oxford from 1973-2009.
