Biographical / Historical

Lieutenant W. Ellerton Fry was intelligence officer and photographer of the British South Africa Company's expedition into Mashonaland, 1890, having previously held the post of Secretary and Computer of the Royal Observatory, Cape Town.

The album was purchased on behalf of the Bodleian Libraries by the Friends of the Bodleian Library from Clarke's Africana and Rare Books, and accessioned on 15th October 1999.
