Twelve colour photographs taken by Walter Hooper. They are some of the last photographs to be taken of C.S. Lewis before his death.

Comprises photographs taken in August 1963 of:

  1. (fol.63) the drive up to The Kilns, with the old wooden toolshed in front of The Kilns
  2. (fol.64) the front of The Kilns (another house has since been built on the lawn)
  3. (fol.65) C.S. Lewis in the 'Common Room' of The Kilns, where he met visitors
  4. (fol.66) C.S. Lewis in the 'Common Room', seated at desk
  5. (fol.67) gardener Fred Paxford (1898-1979) - the model for Puddleglum [in The Silver Chair] - in the kitchen with Old Tom the toothless cat
  6. (fol.68) Mrs Molly Miller the housekeeper (seated left), her sister (house-maid) by the Aga and Douglas Gresham on the right in the kitchen
  7. (fol.69) front door, left to right: the house-maid, Mrs Miller holding Snip the Siamese cat which belonged to Joy (Lewis's 'step-cat'), C.S. Lewis and Douglas Gresham with Ricky, his dog
