Biographical / Historical
John Richard Perry (b 1943) is a philosopher, who taught at Stanford University (1974-2008) and the University of California, Riverside (2008-2014). He is a co-director of the Center for the Explanation of Consciousness at the Stanford Center for the Study of Language and Information. His major contribution to philosophy includes work in philosophy of language, metaphysics, and philosophy of mind. His specialist subjects are situation semantics, indexicality, and self-knowledge. He is also known as a co-host of the radio show Philosophy Talk.
