Abstract
Minutes of the Oxford Aristotelian Society, 19 Jan 1903 - 5 Jun 1905.
Biographical / Historical
The Oxford Aristotelian Society was established in the early 1880s. Ingram Bywater (1840-1914) was elected its first President, a role he held until his retirement in 1908. He was succeeded by John Alexander Smith (1863–1939) soon after. Members included Harold Henry Joachim (1868-1938), Horace William Brindley Joseph (1867-1943), Clement Charles Julian Webb (1865–1954), and others. The members of the Society met weekly during term and discussed Aristotle's more important writings. It is not known how long the Society remained active.
