Fair copy manuscript volume of poetry entitled "This happy world of things" by a female poet under the pseudonym "Troglodyte". Includes photograph of the author, contents list and notes by the author on publication of particular poems in Poetry Review. The poems are chiefly on the subjects of Christianity, motherhood and places in Somerset. Brief reference is made to the First World War in "The Tube, 1918".

Abstract
Manuscript volume of poetry "The Happy World of Things" by a female poet under the pseudonym "Troglodyte".
Biographical / Historical
This volume was created by an anonymous female poet whose photograph appears in the inside cover of the volume under the pseudonym "Troglodyte". References within the text and the location of the photography studio suggest the writer was resident in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset at the time the book was written (1918). Notes within the text attest that some poems were published or commented on in Poetry Review.
Custodial History
Bears a circular ink stamp indicating it was formerly in the Library of Rev. Herbert Maynard Smith (1869-1949) and Rev. J. Outram Smith (1871-1954), which was dispersed and sold by auction in 2022.
