Model of Kafka's apartment in Prague by Ellie Sampson based on a drawing by Hartmut Binder. The Kafka family lived in this apartment in central Prague from 1907. Franz Kafka's own room (which overlooked the Vltava river) is marked in red. Unlike his sisters, Kafka did not have to share a room but his parents had to go through his bedroom to reach the rest of the apartment. The apartment of the Samsa family in Kafka's The Metamorphosis is very similar in layout. Paper/card. Measures 122mm x 627mm x 502mm (h x w x d).
