Microfilms of TNA Pipe Rolls 2-19
Biographical / Historical
The Recusant Rolls were created by the Pipe Office to record proceedings against recusants (those who refused to conform to the rites and ceremonies of the Church of England).
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The microfilms were given to the Library by the Abbot and Community of Donai Abbey, Woolhampton, Berkshire.
Existence and Location of Copies
The originals are held at The National Archives (formerly the Public Record Office).
