Signature of Edmund Malone pasted to fly-leaf; bookplate of Joseph Haslewood: 'Purchased at Haslewood's sale [R. H. Evans, 16 Dec. 1833], 20 Dec. 1833 for 1.1.0. Lot 1091. F. Madden'; 'Purchased at Sir F. Madden's sale [Sotheby's, 7 Aug. 1873, lot 891] by Mr. Waller of Fleet St., and from him by me. W. E. Buckley'; 'Purchased through Messrs. H. Sotheran and Co. after the Rev. W. E. Buckley's sale July 1894. W. F. Prideaux' (his bookplate in each volume); owned by George Thorn-Drury.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The volumes were bought from P.J. and A.E. Dobell and given to the Library by the Friends of the Bodleian in 1933.
