Autograph signed letter of Bulkeley Bandinel, Bodley's Librarian, to Mr. Till, coin dealer in London, expressing interest in three coins offered for sale at the forthcoming Sotheby auction, and adding details of Elizathan pennies which he also needs. The letter is dated 10 July 1824, postmarked 11 July 1824 and includes remains of a seal.

Biographical / Historical

Bulkeley Bandinel (1781–1861) was a scholar and Bodley's Librarian. Further details of his life and work can be found in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.

William Till was a dealer in ancient and contemporary coins based in Great Russell Street, Covent Garden, London. He wrote an important work on ancient coins, An Essay on the Roman Denarius published in 1838. He was one of the first members of the Numismatic Society, founded in 1836. He died in 1844.
