Abstract

Nine letters of Conservative politicians, mainly to Joseph Hunter (1839-1935), Canadian civil engineer and politician, relating to the Conservative Party and Primrose League issues, 1886-1908.

Biographical / Historical

Joseph Hunter (1839-1935) was born in Scotland and went to British Columbia, Canada in 1864 where he was active as a civil engineer and politician. Further biographical details can be found in The Canadian men and women of the time: a handbook of Canadian biography edited by Henry James Morgan (Toronto: W. Briggs, 1898).
