Comprises:
- (fols. 1-3) two letters from C.S. Lewis to [Rev. William Force] Stead, [1926], one unfinished and addressed from Hillsboro, a house C.S. Lewis lived in between 1922 and 1930. The first offers critique on Stead's book The shadow of Mount Carmel: a pilgrimage (London, 1926); the second thanks Stead for a copy of the book and mentions his favourite poems in it, 'Thames Valley in Winter' and 'The Graveyard Among Mountains'.
- (fols. 4- 36) thirty two letters and notecards from C.S. Lewis to George Sayer and/or his first wife Moira, 16 Apr 1946 - 9 Jan 1963, n.d. The letters are concerned mainly with each others' visits, occasionally mentioning literary works of Lewis and Tolkien. All letters, except the earliest, are signed either 'Jack' or 'J.'.
- (fols. 7-38) typescript of a poem, probably by William Force Stead.

George Sydney Benedict Sayer (1914-2005) was a teacher at Malvern College, Worcestershire. He is best known for his biography of the author C.S. Lewis, Jack: C.S. Lewis and his times (London: Macmillan, 1988).
