Biographical / Historical
The photographer was Denys Archibald Kempson (1906-1977). He was born in Oxford and lived in the city for the rest of his life. He was the technical officer of the photographic unit of the Bureau of Animal Population. He was an Associate of the Linnean Society and a Fellow of the Institute of British Photographers.
