Abstract
Two photographs of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing, taken by Edgar Huang. Mounted on black board, with a description written on the reverse by the photographer.
Custodial History
Taken by Edgar Huang in April and May 1989. The negatives were taken out of China in 1994 by Huang's wife. These prints were made in 1995 for an exhibition at San Diego State University and subsequently gifted to Geoffrey Batchen, Huang's instructor on his MFA course.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Donated to the Bodleian by Geoffrey Batchen in 2023.
