Abstract

First Register of Williamscote Free School, Oxfordshire, 1575-1656, with accounts and recipes added in the early 18th century.

Biographical / Historical

The Williamscote Free School was founded by Walter Calcott of Williamscote, a native of Hook Norton and a merchant of the staple, for the children of the lord of Williamscote and forty others from Williamscote and neighbouring parishes.
