Papers relating to Hugh Preston
Album containing articles written by Hugh Preston for The Cornish Times about the Oxford Group and Moral Re-Armament, 1938-1939. The album also contains photographs of Preston, poems he wrote while serving in the army in North Africa, and press reports, obituaries and photographs of his grave following his death from wounds in Libya in March 1942.

Biographical / Historical
Hugh Graham Preston was born on 4 July 1913 and educated at Rugby and Trinity College, Cambridge, reading law. He joined the firm of Caunter, Venning and Harwood in Liskeard, Cornwall, as an assistant-solicitor. For nine months before being called into the Army he worked for the Oxford Group. He died on 18 March 1942 of wounds received in fighting in Libya.
