Abstract

Archive of Ursula Roberts (Susan Miles)

Biographical / Historical

Ursula Wyllie Roberts (1887-1975) was born in India and educated in Highgate and at the University of London. In 1909 she married William Roberts who became the Rector of St. George's, Bloomsbury (1917-1938). She published poetry, a novel in verse, Lettice Delmer and her husband's biography, Portrait of a Parson, all under the name 'Susan Miles' to avoid confusion with another writer called Ursula Roberts. She was also a suffragist and a supporter of women's ordination. She died in 1975.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Given to the library by Dr. C.H. Roberts in 1976.
