The volumes relate to Mrs Coker's life at Downe House School, Kent, 1913-1914, and then partly at Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire, 1913-1920, Sutton Valence, Kent, 1920-1923, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, 1926-1930, and Bicester, 1930-1978, and partly abroad in various countries.

Biographical / Historical

Margaret 'Margot' Rosalys Mirrlees of Great Shelford, Cambridgshire, married Major Lewis Aubrey Coker (only surviving son of Colonel and Mrs Coker of Bicester House, Oxfordshire), 30 June 1920. She lived at Bicester House, Oxfordshire from 1930 until her death in 1978.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The volumes were bequeathed to the Library by Mrs M.R. Coker, 1978.
