Papers relating to elections held in the United States of America in the years 1814 to 2021.

Biographical / Historical

Professor Philp Davies was formerly Director of the Eccles Centre for American Studies at the British Library.

Arrangement

The material is arranged into levels of election as follows:

  1. Presidential
  2. U.S. Senate
  3. U.S. House of Representatives
  4. State and local
  5. Groups (interest and party)

Further accruals up to 2022 have been shelfmarked according to acquisition, and incorporated into the existing arrangement.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The first tranche of the archive (shelfmarks beginning MS. Amer. s. 33) was donated by Professor Philip Davies in 2002. Further accruals, received from Davies and others over the subsequent years up to 2022, have been incorporated for the second edition of the catalogue, as follows:
