Abstract

Papers relating to the education of women at Oxford University, including records of the meetings of the women principals, and papers of the Women Students' Property Committee concerning the awarding of studentships.

Biographical / Historical

The University of Oxford established academic halls for women from 1878. Women became members of the University in 1920.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The bulk of the collection was deposited by Somerville College in 1975 and 1982.
