Commonplace book of religious passages

Abstract
Commonplace book of religious passages.
Biographical / Historical
The name 'Ann Houghton', and large initials A.H. appear on what must have once been the front cover (now the back of the volume as reused), and on the inside of this cover is written 'Ann Houghton', with the date 12 Nov 1787. The name 'Miss C. Ovenden' is written in another hand, and a further date of 1833. There appears to be nothing in the volume dating from before 1833, so it is most likely that Miss C Ovenden compiled most of the contents of the manuscript.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The volume was donated to a library sale in Canada and was found to have a Bodleian Library stamp. No authoritative record of its original acquisition has been found, but it was restored to the Bodleian in 2017 on the basis of the stamp.
