Biographical / Historical
Edward Mulhearin Lilley (1900-1975) was Rhodes Scholar for Tasmania in 1921 (Merton, Oxford, 1921-1924). After completing his degree he joined the Colonial Service as a probationer in the Survey Department, Nigeria, from 1924, then as a survey officer, 1925-1928. After his resignation, he took up a teaching position in England, and returned to Tasmania in 1932.
