Catalogue of a notebook relating to the University of Oxford Company of Barbers
Biographical / Historical
The Company of Barbers of the University of Oxford is first noted in the 14th century, but its first charter is an Act of Convocation dated 10 November 1675, and their first Orders are dated 18 November 1675. All members were matriculated members of the University of Oxford. Its government was entrusted to a Master and Wardens. The Company was dissolved in 1859.
