Biographical / Historical
Thomas Balston (1883-1967) was a scholar of English book production and illustration, a director of the publishers Duckworth and Co., and an amateur painter. He was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford, before being called to the bar in 1909. He served in the First and Second World Wars and was awarded a Military Cross and an O.B.E.
