Biographical / Historical

Gilbert Murray, latterly Regius Professor of Greek at Oxford University and active in the League of Nations Union, was a member of the National Famine Relief Committee and a founder member of the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief.

The first Gilbert Murray Memorial Lecture was given by Dr. Auguste Lindt, U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, on 3 Apr 1959 at Rhodes House, Oxford.
