Colonel Thomas Leahy served in the 3rd Battalion, King's African Rifles, Kenya, 1936-1939, 5th Battalion, King's African Rifles, Kenya, 1939-1940, 2nd Battalion, King's African Rifles, British Somaliland, Kenya, Abyssinia, 1940-1941. He was Private Secretary to the Governor of Tanganyika, 1953-1955.
