George H.W. Goode, CBE, DSO served in the 1st Battalion, Northern Rhodesia Regiment, Kenya and British Somaliland, 1937-1940, and Headquarters, East Africa Command, Kenya, Italian Somaliland and Abyssinia, 1940-1941. He served with the 28th East Africa Infantry Brigade, British Somaliland, 1941-1942, 13th Battalion, King's African Rifles, Kenya, 1943 and 2nd Battalion, Northern Rhodesia Regiment, Madagascar, 1944, then the 1st Battalion, Rhodesian African Rifles, Kenya, Ceylon and Burma, 1944-1946, 1st Battalion, Northern Rhodesia Regiment, Malaya, 1953-1956, and the 70th Battalion, King's African Rifles, Kenya, 1958-1961.
