Biographical / Historical
Francis Gerald Finch (b 1924) was educated at Stonyhurst College and undertook military service, 1943-1950, including with the Somalia Gendarmerie in Italian Somaliland, 1946-1948, in the 3rd Battalion, King's African Rifles, Somalia and Kenya, 1949-1950, rising to the rank of captain. He started work as a cadet, Tanganyika, 1951, and held the position of district officer, 1953-1962 in the Tanganyika Government Service.
