H. Leslie Kirkley was appointed Secretary of Oxfam in 1951. When he became Oxfam's first Director in 1961 he was succeeded as Company Secretary by M. Bruce Ronaldson. Hugh Belshaw joined Oxfam in 1970 as Finance Director, becoming in addition Company Secretary after the retirement of Bruce Ronaldson. David Nussbaum succeeded Hugh Belshaw as Finance Director and Company Secretary in 1997. Joss Saunders was appointed Oxfam's Legal Adviser in Feb 1998, later also taking on the role of Company Secretary.
