Eighty-five volumes and folders of loose papers, c.14th cent.-1876, comprising drawings and water-colours, notes, extracts and drafts, 'journals', publications, correspondence, and miscellaneous material, relating to Wilkinson's research. The 'journals' may have been written up later from notes made at the time of the events they describe. Material relating to specific published and unpublished projects is catalogued separately above.
