Much of the material in this section relates to the UK Co-ordinating Committee on Cancer Research (UKCCCR), which was established in 1970 to help the major funders co-ordinate their activities, particularly in the area of clinical trials. It was initially set up by the Medical Research Council (MRC), Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) and Cancer Research Campaign (CRC).
