Biographical / Historical
The British Association for the Advancement of Science (often referred to as the British Association or BAAS) was founded in 1831, and has functioned to promote science, direct general attention to scientific matters and facilitate interaction amongst scientists. Since 2009 the association has traded under the name British Science Association. This section of material represents Sir Walter Bodmer's close involvement with the Association, including the period during which he was President.
