Relating

  1. (fol. 27) to the estates and family affairs, and family history, of the Butlers of Ormond,
  2. (fol. 1) to the administration of the King's household in England by the first duke of Ormond as Lord Steward of the Household, 1680-85,
  3. to the public affairs of Ireland, chiefly 1660-85, but with some earlier papers.

On fol. 27v is an original Latin deed by which O(sbertus) prior et conventus de Lewus gives lands to Thomas filius Osberti de Trunflet, about A.D. 1180, and on fol. 28 another by which Thomas Hony de Skelbroke gives lands to Edmundus le Botilere, A.D. 1320, and on fol. 29v a third by which Symon de Rypes gives lands to Robertus filius Roberti de Butelare (late 13th cent.?), all on parchment.
