Most of the papers are from the Agency's own archive, which was added to the Chandler deposit by Carl D. Brandt in 1984. They consist of letters from Chandler and others, letters and copies of letters to Chandler forwarded by him to the Agency, and carbon copies of the Agency's outgoing mail. Related correspondence that was originally in Chandler's own files has been interfiled with the Brandt & Brandt archive. This comprises letters to Chandler from Bernice Baumgarten and Carl Brandt, together with copies of letters to Brandt & Brandt from Chandler's 'Reading Files.' Also interfiled are a few transcripts of letters from Chandler, 1951-1952, with some photocopies, 1961-1962, made for Dorothy Gardiner.
