Venkatesan was an Indian scientist who did postdoctoral research with J.D. Dunitz at Zurich and then with Hodgkin at Oxford where he worked on the B12 nucleus compound, Factor V1a. He returned to India to make his career at the University of Madras and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
