Visit to India, Feb.-Mar. 1974, Oct. 1973-Mar. 1974
Hodgkin was invited by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to deliver the Azad Memorial Lecture for 1974. She combined this visit to India with a visit to Vietnam, travelling to Hanoi via Delhi and Calcutta in early February. Coming back to India at the end of February via the University of Dacca, Bangladesh, she visited the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics in Calcutta, the University of Madras and the National Aeronautical Laboratory at Bangalore before travelling to New Delhi for the lecture. Entitled 'Wandering Scientists', Bibliog. 148, the lecture was an account of the parts played by different scientists in the history of research on proteins, penicillin, vitamin B12 and insulin.
