Biographical / Historical
From 1854 William England was the principal photographer for the London Stereoscopic Company, producing a wide variety of stereoscopical views. On behalf of the London Stereoscopic Company, England became the exclusive photographer for the International Exhibition in London, 1862. He left the London Stereoscopic Company in 1863 to work as a freelance photographer, travelling widely around Europe. His subsequent photographic views of Alpine scenes were particularly highly regarded.
