Biographical / Historical

A partnership of John Edward Saché and Colin Roderick Murray, photographers of India in the 1860s and 1870s. Murray took photographs for Bourne & Shepherd during the British Raj. After Samuel Bourne returned to England in 1870, he took over as the head photographer of Bourne & Shepherd. Saché, born Johann Edvart Zachert, was a Prussian photographer who worked in Calcutta in 1865. He formed a partnership with W.F. Westfield in Bombay in 1869, and then with Colin Murray until 1870.
