Biographical / Historical
Carl Walter was a botanist and photographer who focussed primarily on photographing indigenous people and the mission stations of Ramahyuck, Coranderrk, and Lake Tyers. John Pain was a photographer based in New South Wales where ran a photographic studio on Elizabeth Street. John Watt Beattie is best known for his photography of indigenous peoople and various landscapes. He also captured studio portraiture in his early career.
