Biographical / Historical
Pascal Sébah is best known for his photographs of Turkey, Egypt, and Greece. He had a studio called Sébah & Joaillier.
Hippolyte Béchard operated a studio in Cairo with his brother Emile in the 1870s. Emile is better known for the studio's photography. Hippolyte was known to sell the photographs from the studio. However, in this album, Hippolyte's own signature is on the photographs.
Luigi Fiorillo was an Italian photographer who was active in the Middle East and Africa. Little else is known of him.
The three Abdullah brothers opened a studio in Constantinople in 1858 and photographed scenic views and notable individuals, including Sultans. The studio remained active until 1899.
Antonio Beato is best known for his views of architecture and landscapes in Egypt, as well as his portraits.
