Biographical / Historical
The three Abdullah brothers opened a studio in Constantinople in 1858 and photographed scenic views and notable individuals, including Sultans. The studio remained active until 1899.
The Rhomaides Frères was a photographic studio run by two brothers. They had several studios in Greece. Their specialty was archaeological work, although they did take portraits as well.
Pascal Sébah is best known for his photographs of Turkey, Egypt and Greece. He had a studio called Sébah & Joaillier.
Félix Bonfils was active in the Middle East, and was one of the first photographers to produce commericalised images of the Middle East, and one of the first to use a method of colour photography.
