Biographical / Historical
Rafael Garzón is best known for his photographic portrats of The Alhambra. He also took portraits of the Seville aristocracy and tourists.
Jean Laurent was originally a box and paper maker, but he took an interest in photography in 1855. He is known for hand-coloring his photographs. From 1861-1868 he was known as 'Fotógrafo de Su Majestad la Reina' or, 'The Queen's Photographer'.
J. E. Puig was one of the Esplugas Brothers, who had a studio in Barcelona. Little else is known about him or his career as a photographer.
Francis Frith opened a photographic studio in Liverpool, known as Frith & Hayward, and was a founding member of the Liverpool Photographic Society. He established a business publishing landscape views from around the world as prints, portfolios, and photographically-illustrated books. Many of his published works were made by his network of travelling photographers, including Frank Mason Good, Frederick William Sutton, and Hugo Lewis Pearson. Frith also bought the negative stocks of established photographers such as Roger Fenton and Francis Bedford. At its peak, the company published a 670 page catalogue of stock.
Very little is known of C. Huerta, other than that he made photographs in the 1890s. There are several other photographers credited, but little information was found on them. Their names are listed as: L. L., Santos Madera, T. Molina, Garzon, Alcazar, and J.P.
