Biographical / Historical

Little is known about Paolo Lombardi. He is not to be confused with Lombardi & Co., of London and Brighton, who made celebrity portraits.

Giorgio Sommer was a German photographer who specialised in ruins, landscapes, and portraits. In 1866 he opened a studio with photographer Edmund Behles in Rome.
