The first of two volumes of Gibson's collections for his edition of William Camden's Britannia (London, 1695), 1695
Covers Bedfordshire-Kent, consisting of notes by Gibson and correspondence and notes, addressed mainly to Gibson or to the printers Awnsham Churchill and Abel Swall, from many other contributors (a list of whom is to be found in Gibson's preface to the printed edition) interleaved with the relevant portions of Philemon Holland's 1637 edition of Camden.
Includes (fols. 106 and 108a) the earliest known English brass rubbing, taken from Macclesfield parish church, of Roger Legh and his wife (Mill Stephenson, A List of Monumental Brasses in the British Isles (London, 1926), Cheshire, Macclesfield I, p. 69).

Arrangement
Unlike the printed volume the counties are arranged alphabetically and include only English counties (and Monmouthshire). There is no material for Worcestershire and Yorkshire.
