Files on particular Indian states, 1932

 Series

  • How to
    request

These papers consist of notes compiled and papers received in the course of the work of the Indian States Enquiry Committee (Financial) in India during the first half of 1932. As well as printed and typescript submissions made to the committee by the governments of various states, they include the minutes kept by the committee of discussions with state representatives and notes and memoranda compiled with reference to certain points arising from the discussions with the states. The submissions from particular states often include detailed reports on features of state economic structures and memoranda detailing the history and particulars of agreements between the states and British India. The detailed description of the Baroda papers in MS.Eng.hist.c.571 provides an example of the type of material for other states.
