Dermot Gleeson joined 1974 in Political Section; Home Affairs head, ?-1977; left 1977 to be member of Sir Christopher Tugendhat's cabinet in the European Commission, 1977-1979; Governor of BBC until 2008.

Alastair Graham was European Desk Officer, 1984-1988 (liaising with the EDG in Strasbourg each month).
