This series contains press cuttings relating both to Addison's career, and the 1939-1945 War. MSS. Addison dep. b. 1-7 are volumes (bound in leather, some boards and spines detached or missing), charting Addison's early political career from 1909 to 1921. They also contain photographs, election materials and other documents. MSS. Addison dep. b. 1-6 contain captions by Addison's Secretary Madge White, who records in MS. Addison dep. b. 5 that due to the large amount of press cuttings collected, from then on (1917-1918), cuttings were mainly kept loose in bundles. These bundles correspond to MSS. Addison c. 226/1-2, c. 227/1-5, c. 229, d. 14/1-4, d. 15/1-3. MS. Addison dep. c. 230 also contains some correspondence and photographs. MSS. Addison dep. c. 228, c. 231 contain articles and speeches written by Addison from 1921-1951. MSS. Addison dep. b. 8-11, c. 232-235 are scrap-books containing press cuttings relating to the 1939-1945 War, and domestic and foreign policy, 1940-1946, possibly compiled by Dorothy, Lady Addison.
