The Ministry of Employment and Productivity was created in 1968, replacing the former Ministry of Labour. The Conservative parliamentary committee which mirrored this department changed its name from 1970. For papers of the Conservative Parliamentary Labour Committee, see:-

In 1995, the Department of Employment merged with the Department of Education to form the Department for Education and Employment (see CRD/B/8/18-21 in the Education briefs sub-series above). In 2001, responsibility for employment transferred to the new Department for Work and Pensions.
