The Parliamentary Sub-Committee was established in 1946 with a remit of reporting and advising on proposed legislation before the House of Commons of specific interest to women. The committee was tasked with ascertaining the views of women members of the Conservative Party, and liaising with Members of Parliament over the passage of bills through the House.
